Solving a Flow Problem With a Custom-Built Solution

Washington Cherry Growers contacted Elite Metal Fabrication after experiencing problems with kickback cherries coming off one of their processing lines. The original flume system did not have enough fall to move the cherries effectively, creating a flow problem that required more than a simple modification.

EMF came in and developed a completely custom flume design, redirecting the cherries through a new route beneath the existing catwalk system. The project required custom fabrication, challenging fit-up, and extensive stainless TIG welding to build a system that worked within the existing facility while providing the fall and flow the line needed.

The result: zero leaks at startup and dramatically improved cherry flow. The new system performed as designed from day one and turned a difficult existing-layout problem into a clean, functional solution.
